Preventing Neck Problems –
When you spend a lot of time sitting at a desk or staring at a computer screen, muscle aches and pains are going to be a problem sooner or later. Implementing stretch breaks during the day while at work is a useful tool for reducing these types of problems. Remember that the benefits of stretching in the modern world are invaluable.
The Chicken Wing Stretch –
The “Chicken Wing” stretch helps to loosen up tight muscles in the neck, shoulder, and mid back. If you sit at a desk for long periods of the day, add the stretch to your regiment. I recommend that you perform this to reduce spasm and neck pain, but more importantly, I recommend that you perform this stretch regularly (every 30-45 minutes of sitting at a computer desk) throughout the day to prevent recurrence of neck problems.

Don’t Stop at Stretching –
Remember that although stretching is an important component to reducing pain and muscle spasm, increasing blood and nutrient flow into the muscles, and improving immune function, it needs to be coupled with regular exercise. Don’t forget about our group exercise boot camp. If you would like to try group exercise boot camp to see if it is a good fit for you, join us every Saturday at 1:00 pm for FREE.
